Utah’s Guide to Recovery Month 2026: Rallies, Events, and How to Get Involved

September is National Recovery Month! Every year, this month serves as a powerful reminder that recovery from substance use disorders is not only possible but is happening all around us. The 2026 theme is “Recover Your Way,” highlighting the beautiful reality that there is no single path to healing.

Whether you utilize medication-assisted treatment, faith-based programs, peer support, total abstinence, or harm reduction strategies, your recovery is valid and deserves to be celebrated.

This month, we focus on the four dimensions that support a life in recovery: Health, Home, Community, and Purpose. Here in Utah, our community is coming together stronger than ever to celebrate our milestones, dismantle stigma, and continue the fight for equitable behavioral health care.

Here is your guide to getting involved this September.

Salt Lake City Recovery Day 2026

The flagship event of the month is the 23rd Annual Salt Lake City Recovery Day, hosted by our partners at USARA. This event has national recognition and is a massive, joyous celebration of the Utah recovery community.

  • When: Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM
  • Where: Jordan Park (1060 S 900 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84104)
  • Cost: Free and open to the public!

What to Expect: The day will be packed with sponsor and vendor exhibits, inspiring guest speakers, live music, and food trucks. There will also be a dedicated area with fun activities for kids, making this a truly family-friendly celebration.

It is an incredible opportunity to connect with old friends, make new ones, and see firsthand the massive network of support in our state. You can find more information or register as a vendor at RecoveryDay.org.

Statewide Celebrations

The celebration isn’t limited to the Wasatch Front. Communities across Utah are hosting their own events to ensure that the message of recovery reaches every corner of the state.

We encourage you to look out for local events hosted by health departments and peer organizations in areas like Tooele, Davis County, and Kane County. Check with your local community centers or the USARA offices for exact dates and times in your area.

How to Celebrate

Celebrating recovery also means protecting the systems that make it possible. As we gather in parks and community centers this month, we must remember that funding for these vital services is decided at the state Capitol.

If you want to turn your celebration into action this September, here are two things you can do today:

  1. Become a Recovery Voter: 2026 is an election year. The individuals we elect to the state legislature will make critical decisions regarding mental health parity, harm reduction funding, and peer support infrastructure. Ensure your voter registration is up to date and pledge to vote with recovery in mind by using our Become a Recovery Voter tool.
  2. Save the Date for 2027: The energy we build this September will fuel our advocacy during the legislative session. We are already preparing for the 2027 Rally for Recovery at the Capitol this coming February. Sign up for our Newsletter to be the first to get the details.

Celebrate Loudly

If you are in recovery, we see you, we honor your hard work, and we are so glad you are here. If you are an ally, thank you for standing with us.

This September, let’s show Utah what recovery looks like. Share your stories, attend the events, and remind the world that recovery is everywhere.
